In those years the Audi-supplied headlamp and separate turn signal was manufactured by Bosch. The foglamp was integrated into the headlamp and the foglamp functioned moderately well (in comparison to today's standards). If you have this type of headlamp - this great upgrade could be for you!

History

Years ago, LLTek was able to purchase special clear projector versions (made by Hella) of the two piece headlamp that first appeared on the European S4 (released in late 1997). These were the first HID (Xenon) projection versions that would fit in an A4 (96-99). These units were shipped to LLtek for resale in three separate allotments. Later this same two-piece HID projector headlamp evolved into a one-piece unit for Audi's A4 facelift model (1999.5 - 2001). In the one-piece North American projector version (made by Valeo), two designs were available. One was HID and the other was a dual H7 halogen version. Both "e-code " Euro versions were superior to the North American version in lens design, reflector design, cut off points and as a bonus - contained no orange plastic coloring in the turn signal. LLTek stocks these superior night-driving products.

It was and still is possibleto retrofit the older 1996-1999 A4 with a one-piece Valeo headlamp for the 1999.5-2001 A4, since the headlamp opening is nearly identical. This retrofit requirs two adjustments. First the Bosch plug must be replaced with a Valeo compatible plug. Second, minor body trimming of the inner fender is needed. The fitment results are 94% satisfactory. LLTek has sold, and continues to sell headlamps for this type of upgrade and it remains a viable option for Audi enthusiasts. However, many enthusiasts do not like the idea of cutting their car, tinkering with plugs and a less-than-perfect fit.

Now there is a better option.

"Plug and Play" - The 100% Solution for Halogen or HID Xenon

The two-piece "plug and play", no-cut, perfect-fit headlamp housing is a practical and affordable upgrade. LLTek has two new versions of the European A4/S4 2 piece clear projector headlamp and turn signal. These are full projector versions with the ultra clear style turn signals. Light output specifications are European, of course, as these units are e-code. Each headlamp contains the superior lens design, a sharper reflector design, defined cut-off points and increased light output. One version will be Philips HID Low Beam, H7 High Beam; the second version looks identical but is Halogen H7 low,and Halogen H7 high.

We still receive limited supplies of European A4/S4 clear turn signals (image 1) that can be purchased for $77 per side (sold in sets only). Headlamps again sold in sets only (image 2) will be sold for $388 per set; so the four-piece headlamp and turn signal kit makes good sense at a savings of almost $100.00 over the price of these same four items purchased separately.
