The Audi Q7 was Audi's late entry in the full-size luxury SUV category starting in 2006, but well worth the wait. Engines are produced in Zuffenhausen, Germany, while coachwork and assembly takes place in the Audi facility located in Bratislava, Slovakia. The Q designation (which some consider a reference to "quattro") opened a new category for Audi and placed it squarely between the Audi A6 and Audi A8 at the top of Audi's lineup.
